The Schools Co-operative Society and representatives from the wider SCS Network will post news and events below.

An important part of our work is the contacts schools can make locally and regionally across our networks.

Each region will also have its own method of keeping members up to date including newsletters and email contact and members should ensure they are in contact with their regional representative.

We will also respond to key national news events and government policy by posting a news item in this area

Cyber Security Awareness

50 students from the SCS-sponsored Beaufort Co-operative Academy in Gloucestershire (part of OUR MAT) are piloting a CyberFirst Adventurers course ahead of a possible national roll-out. Beaufort, together with Cleeve School are working closely with the National Cyber Security Centre, the students are helping to develop new ways of teaching Computer Science and advancing cyber-awareness.

The CyberFirst Adventurers course is aimed at 11 to 14 year olds who have not yet made their GCSE choices. Each student together with a parent or carer have spent an introductory day together, working with industry professionals on a number of challenges and topics. As well as being valuable and entertaining, the course helps illustrate the world of opportunities opened up through Computer Science.
